Top executives from UK broadcasters will join a panel to discuss which diversity and inclusion initiatives have worked to date, whether initiative-itis is the problem not the solution, what must be done differently to effect the change we want to see and whether radical thinking driven by the Covid-related impact of lower tariffs and shrinking slates could finally unblock barriers to progress.

Panel will be chaired by historian, academic, broadcaster, writer and producer David Olusoga and feature:

  • Charlotte Moore, Director of Content, BBC
  • Kevin Lygo, Director of Television, ITV
  • Danny Horan, Head of Factual, Channel 4
  • Zai Bennett,Managing Director of Content, Sky

The event, TV and diversity: how to make 2020 the year of genuine change  will take place via Zoom from 11.30am to 1pm GMT on 11 August and you can register here

im all about divercity. unfortunatly because i dont pay for a tv licience and only use streaming services netflix and prime and my owned content i cant actually recieve any other channels as the virgin and sky broadcasters cant give me content without bbc channels so a subscription to atlantic cant happen or sky sports. so that restricts the diverse content id like. personally i think the conversation needs to start with free to choose and not aplying for a liecience to have a no licience as the bbc word it lol.

I want the bbc to be diverse but i also want the choice to say no to it as its content is nothing short of rubish to my tastes. antiques road show, come dance, dining and all the other chepo crap is something i dont want.
