2020

Due to the Corona Virus pandemic the 4th edition of the MIPCOM Diversify TV Awards were held virtually for the first time and broadcast on the 13th October 2020. The ceremony was hosted by French singer, DJ, actor and LGBTQ icon Kiddy Smile and is available to view below.

As in previous years, shows were judged not only on the quality of filmaking, acting, directing, scriptwriting etc, but also on their representation and portrayal of marginalised groups. The winning entries were selected by charities and groups that are dedicated to supporting / campaigning for these communities, and understand first hand the struggles and frustrations members of these communities deal with on a daily basis, therefore shows reinforcing dangerous stereotypes will not be rewarded.
